What languages are supported?
At present English is the only language supported. However, most items within the app are Icon/Graphic based. Other languages may be supported later. Please watch this space.

Where will I find my email server settings and password that I need to put into WatchIt© to make it work?
If it's your company email, then ask your IT folk. Otherwise, consult your email company/provider. They usually have details for setting up email on a device. You need to find the manual settings.

Is there a limit on how many items I can ask WatchIt© to watch?
In theory, no. In practice, the processing power of your PC/server and network infrastructure might struggle if you try monitoring 1000's. Talk to us if you are unsure.

Can I just drag/drop a file I want monitored onto WatchIt©?
Yes. If you open the settings, by clicking on the tray icon near the clock. Drag/Drop a file onto the 'add' icon. (A folder cannot be added this way.)

I need to keep an eye on a folder, rather than a file. Can WatchIt© monitor a folder for changes within it?
Yes. Just double click on the file icon next to the file path in settings and it will let you select a folder to watch.

What happens if somebody moves or deletes a watched item?
If you have the settings set to notify you, you will get an email. If the file or folder reappears, then WatchIt© will just return to monitoring the item as usual.

Can I load WatchIt© onto more than one PC?
Yes, but, you would install individual licensed copies of WatchIt© on each PC.

How long does the trial period last?
The trial period will last 30 days. After that, a license will be required. Please avoid altering the date on the PC/Server during this trial, as it will permenantly reduce the trial period. It is advisable to use shorter interval periods on some test watched items to verify that the app is suitable for your needs.

What support is offered during my trial period and after purchase?
During your trial period and after purchase, support is limited to essensial queries that are not covered on this webite and in these faq's. Any support requests must be made on the online contact form and we will reply as soon as we are able, but cannot guarantee any response times.

How do I buy a License?
You can obtain a license by using the Buy License link or button within the application on the PC that needs Licensing, it should open our Purchase page and automatically fill in the required WatchIt© ID Number.
If you go to this page manually, you will need to carefully copy/paste the ID number from the application on the PC that needs licensing. Once you have paid, you will ge a payment reciept from PayPal and we email your license to you with clear instructions on how to install it.

Can I use the licence I buy on 'any' PC/Server?
No. Each license will only work on the actual PC/Server it is purchased for. The app produces a unique license ID for the PC it's running on. A different PC/Server would require it's own individual license at additional cost.

What is your refund policy?
We want you to be fully happy with WatchIt©, but please ensure this 'before' you buy. The trial period is there for you to establish that you are fully satisfied with the performance, operational effectiveness and appropriacy for your requirements. Please also ensure that the license ID code that you enter our Request License page is correct. Our refund policy is very clear. We will gladly, without fuss, refund anything that we are legally obliged to. In all other circumstances, we do not offer refunds.

What happens to my license if I upgrade my PC/server?
Your licensce is for the PC/Server as it stands. If you upgrade it, you will need a new license.

Are the email server password and settings encrypted?
Yes. These are encrypted on the PC. (The server seetings are visible in the app, but not the password.)

Does WatchIt© make any outbound internet connections?
WatchIt© only makes outbound connections when you select the WatchIt© website or 'License This PC' buttons from within the app. In evaluation, or legitimate licenced mode, the app does not make outbound connections to us or any 3rd party. It will of course make outbound connections to any external items that you are "Watching" that are non directly on the PC that the app is running on.

Can I leave WatchIt© running 24/7 on a Server or PC?
Absolutely. Just leave WatchIt© running in the system tray. If you have the configuration screen open, then just minimise it to the tray and it will get started on keeping an eye on things for you.

Can I have WatchIt© just start with Windows?
Of course. When WatchIt© is installed it adds an entry to the Windows Start-up folder for all users. So each time the PC starts up, WatchIt© will do it's stuff. If it's a server, it will likely have ReBoot after power out set already. So, WatchIt© will be running as soon as the server is back up and running.

I'm an IT Manager and want to load WatchIt© onto staff PC's and a few servers. Is there a way to streamline entering the email SMTP server settings?
Yes, there is. Create a notepad text file and, in this order, enter the details as follows.
SMTP Server
Port
Username
Password
From Email Address
Save it as Anything.txt
Then, in settings on an installed app, drag/drop the file on the settings icon on the server settings page. Then save. (You shouldn't need to transfer the txt file to the client PC. But if you did, then don't forget to delete it when you have done.)
